2011: A Year of Gratitude
President’s Message
No doubt, it was a challenging year for us all at FPMC, but if you ask me what we
are most grateful for, I would simply say, "A fresh start in our new home!" With
the tremendous support of our Board of Trustees, our host and support churches,
pastors and coordinators, a new Case Manager, the kindness of volunteers, the many
individual and financial supporters around the community, and the generosity of local
businessman John M. Frailey, Family Promise is in a new day center that we call home. > See More
2nd Annual Indoor
Mini Golf Tournament
Family Promise has recently finished two of their big events-the 2nd Annual Indoor
Mini Golf Tournament in February and the 3rd Annual Footsteps for Families 3K
walk-a-thon in March. A great time was had for all who participated in the golf this
year. Many new and unique holes were added to challenge even the best golfer. With live
music, hot dogs and ‘make your own’ ice cream sundaes, the 19th hole was also a definite
hit. Many thanks to all the hard working teens who helped, the many hole sponsors,
participants and especially Friendly’s Restaurant who donated the ice cream for those
delicious sundaes.
The indoor walk-a-thon was again held at the Stroud mall with record participation.
Everyone enjoyed getting ready for those summer clothes but still managed to consume
many freshly baked chocolate chip cookies donated by Subway and Orange Julius drinks
donated by Orange Julius. There were over 20 tricky tray prizes to win, a 50/50 and
prizes were given out for first to finish with the grand prize of a hand made stoneware
birdhouse given to the person who made the most sponsor dollars. Fun exercise for all
and everyone went home with a bag of treats. |

A young man and his son arrived at Family Promise and were screened for admittance to the program in Monroe County. George and his 2 year old son were evicted from their apartment and he had lost his entire life in 15 days.

Spring Clothing Drive June 8, 2012
Spring Clothing Drive, June 8, 2012. FPMC will have their semi-annual clothing drive June 8 at Faith United Methodist Church, from 9 am to 8 pm.
